Place tiles on the board to spell a word through the center star, then press Play Word.
Your rack refills to 7 tiles automatically after every word you play — no extra step needed. "Exchange & Pass" is only for trading away unwanted tiles when you don't want to play a word; it swaps just the tiles you select and immediately ends your turn.

How to Play Word Tiles
Word Tiles follows the official, standard rules of tile-based crossword games (Scrabble-style) exactly:
Goal: Score the most points by forming valid words on the 15×15 board using letter tiles.
First move: Your first word must cross the center star square.
Later moves: Every new word must connect to at least one tile already on the board, either extending a word or crossing perpendicular to one.
Straight lines only: All tiles placed in a single turn must form one continuous line, horizontally or vertically, with no gaps.
Every word formed must be valid — including the main word and any secondary "crossword" words formed perpendicular to it. All are scored.
Letter values: Each tile is worth points shown in its corner. Blank tiles are wild — they can represent any letter but are worth 0 points.
Premium squares (first use only):
DL
Double Letter — doubles that tile's value
TL
Triple Letter — triples that tile's value
DW
Double Word — doubles the whole word's score
TW
Triple Word — triples the whole word's score
Bingo bonus: Using all 7 tiles from your rack in a single turn earns a 50-point bonus.
Your turn options: Play a word, exchange any number of tiles for new ones from the bag (ends your turn), or pass.
Game end: The game ends when a player uses their last tile and the bag is empty, or after 6 consecutive scoreless turns. Each player then subtracts the value of tiles left in their rack from their score; if a player went out, that value is added to their score instead, taken from opponents' racks.
